Wegman's Cafe on North Atherton has a good variety and free wireless. You have to take a bus to get there, though. (Jessica S)
Irving's on College Ave has excellent fruit smoothies and pretty much anything you want on a bagel (except GRAPE jelly). There's usually a bit of a wait, especially at "standard" mealtimes. (Jessica S)
Canyon Pizza on Beaver Ave is cheap and open very late. You pretty much get what you pay for -- greasy pizza. Which is exactly what you sometimes want. :) (Jessica S)
Qdoba down on College Ave, 2nd best mexican place in town.... for the best youll ahve to go to Mad Mex, but ya for 6$ u get a freakign enormous burrito that will fill you up like mad.
It's not just greasy pizza - it is awesome greasy pizza! Plus they have that tip gong! (Joe)
College Pizza: To be honest, Canyon Pizza is just a name; a Penn State tradition if you will. College is, in all respects, better. College has shorter lines, better pizza (that is completely fresh, and cooked in front of you), and a hilariously drunken staff on the weekends. I can't stress College enough when you're hungry at 2am on a friday. (Dan M.)
If you are ever driving out Port Matilda way, stop at Clem's BBQ. It's literally a shack on the side of the road, but is the best BBQ around. The chicken is to die for. (Jessica S)
Stone Soup on College Ave just across University has fresh, locally made soups Tuesdays and Thursdays. There's always a vegetarian option. (Jessica S)
Abba Java House, off College Ave. is an off-beat but good place to get all-you-can eat pancakes and sausage before football games if you can't get into any dining halls (Tony A)
